This project was to translate 2,000 resources into 12 languages and to expand minority or underserved U and CF outreach and education.
This grant would enable TreeLink to: First, translate some 2,000 resources into 12 languages to expand minority or underserved U&CF outreach and education. Second, TreeLink posted "quick surveys," simple, one question bimonthly surveys to build a baseline of knowledge to assess issues of high impact, and to help assess the value of U&CF to multicultural and underserved populations. Third, this grant allowed TreeLink to research minority and underserved organizations, correspond with these organizations, build dialogue, share resources and promote cross-cultural diversity and programs in order to expand knowledge and participation in Urban and Community Forestry nationwide and abroad.
Project objectives:
Four quarters (completing 24 months of two-year project):
Organize content targets
Complete initial translations
Prepare survey questions
Begin online "quick surveys"
Prepare all for posting on Web site
Expand outreach, dialogue
Continue online "quick surveys" and develop baseline of survey results
Continue outreach research
Contact more, expand dialogue and sharpen outreach and Web support
Trade reciprocal links and content with diverse groups
Update and refine translations.
