Birch Leafminer and Its Control
This factsheet describes the life cycle and control of birch leafminer and its effects on its hosts.
The sawfly feeds off birch leaves which results in disease-like blisters and blotches. Adult leafminers can over winter in the soil and can reproduce up to four generations in a single growing season. This results in a need to chemically spray infected trees multiple times in a year.
