Human Influences on Forest Ecosystems: The Southern Wildlife-Urban Interface Assessment Report
In 1998, Florida wildfires, demonstrated the complexities of natural resource management in the wildland-urban interface. Shortly after these wildfires, the wildland-urban interface was identified as one of the main challenges for the Forest Service in the South. The focus of this assessment was specifically focused on urbanization, changing land use pattersn, and issues related to the wldland-urban interface.
