Invasive Plants Threaten Maine's Natural Treasures
This factsheet includes information on why invasive species are a problem, where they come from, how they are being controlled and what you can do to avoid the spread.
An invasive plant is a non-native plant with very high reproduction potential and the ability to establish across long distances. An invasive plant can become established in natural areas, and disrupt natural communities by outcompeting native plants.
