Urban and Community Forestry - A Guide for the Interior Western United States
This guide is intended to assist tree care specialists and community leaders in improving and sustaining their urban landscapes.
Most of the trees within communities of the interior west were not found; they were planted. These plants must be renewed like all resources. This manual is used by community coordinators and citizen interested in trees in order to enhance the landscape. There are 13 tabs in the manual discussing different subjects. This includes: Introduction, Historical Background, Benefits, Establishing and Nuturing a Program, Inventories, Community Forest Plan, Tree Ordinance and Policy, Project Site Evaluations, Tree Selection and Planting, Xeriscape, Urban Soils, Maintenance, and Case Study. There is also a section in the appendix with recommendations for the best trees by state. This binder compiles a vast amount of information on urban trees in more than 200 pages.
