Urban Forestry

Efficient, effective management of urban vegetation, especially trees and forests, is essential to the environmental and social well-being of all our citizens. It is apparant that our population is growing and will continue to grow. Foresters have to preserve the mature trees of established neighborhoods, conserve the fringe forests being invaded by development, and establish and maintain sturdy saplings in treeless city landscapes. It is a fact that knowledge of Urban Forestry and history is needed to become aware of this developing problem of our tree health.
