Urban Tree: Biology

A component of the Georgia Master Gardener urban forestry training program.

The study of tree biology is the study of structure and function, and the relationship between them. Anatomy is the study of the component parts of the tree (leaves, stem, roots etc). Physiology is the study of the biological and chemical processes within these structures, providing the basis for function (photosynthesis, transpiration etc).
